About Dog Coach: Creating a Family-Centered Canine Life
Dog Coach dog training is rooted in the reality of modern life. Sarah Prescott started Dog Coach in 2013 after first-hand experience of what it takes to have a household with dogs and kids. Her husband Jonathan Prescott joined her in building the business with their daughter Mariah (Prescott) Fancy. The family-first business is a comprehensive approach to having a better-behaved dog. Read about what our motto means.
Dog Coach helps households have more fun with their dogs. Poor dog behavior makes everyday life more stressful and puts a damper on hiking, travel, boating, camping, and other activities your well-behaved dog could join you on.
There are many ways to train a dog. Dog Coach methods teach owners to develop a strong relationship with their dogs using a balance of yes (praise) with no (correction) to establish reasonable household boundaries. We teach using a variety of training tools: various leashes, a quick-release Herm Sprenger prong collar, dog crates, and if indicated, an E-Collar Technologies remote collar. These tools allow us to show owners how to humanely and efficiently transform their relationship with their dogs. Read about why we train with tools.
Our training programs have helped hundreds of families and their dogs. Each success story begins with a household committed to changes that promote better dog behavior. Dog training goes beyond sit and stay commands. Our role as dog trainers is to help owners change how they interact with their canine and raise their expectations for their dog’s behavior.
We will work with your whole family team to inspire confidence and leadership in dog handling skills. Our clients regularly return for training for another dog, additional training support, or refer their friends and family to us. Dog Coach instruction will always be committed to your dedication to having the best family dog ever.
