Dog Coach Client Reviews

Check out what another Byfield resident has to say about our dog training:

“We can’t say enough good things about Sarah and the Dog Coach team. Our goal was to get ahead of any bad behaviors with our new puppy and we achieved that 100%. Thanks to Dog Coach, there is no barking or jumping and walking went from being dragged around the neighborhood to easy side-by-side walks that we all enjoy. We definitely feel more confident as dog owners and we can tell Buddy is a happier dog because of that.” – Jennifer F.

Dog Training Tip: Stop Your Dog From Jumping

Training an over-exuberant dog that jumps isn’t just about correcting for jumping, it’s about shifting your dog’s mindset and your leadership energy. A calm state of mind, a foundation to Dog Coach training, is nurtured through a lifestyle shift and comprehensive training.

Correcting for jumping is a leash exercise. If your dog most often jumps on guests in the house, have a drag leash on inside. If your dog is often out in public and jumps on people, anticipate your dog’s behavior by keeping a short leash and not allowing your dog to get two front paws off the ground. As soon as he starts to jump, say “no” and pull your dog away from the person. You are the handler on the other end and have the power and authority to guide your dog’s behavior!

We often see clients who cannot offer a leash correction that will stop their dog’s jumping. Teaching you to properly and humanely use a prong collar and maybe a remote collar allows you to convey your expectations to your dog accurately. You can see some of the great work our clients have put in to stop their dogs from jumping:
